Interpreting a Moment
“Translating a tacit and often introspective moment into visual art is my greatest challenge. All I need is my intuition and colors.” – Léa Malas
I am an intuitive artist working through a naive and exploratory approach, engaging psychological themes of womanhood, the self, mental states, and identity. My work unfolds instinctively, translating inner experiences into figurative expressions with abstract elements, a visual language that goes at times to being surreal.
Born in France, raised in Beirut, and now based in Norway, my path across cultures and disciplines shapes a sensitivity to contrast and transformation.
Inspired by nature, I draw solitary animals as quiet symbols of survival and inner solitude, figures that echo the self.
At this stage, I find myself working with identity and the psyche through surreal, childlike figurative imagery.
